Full Moon in Capricorn

Full moon | CApricorn | July 21, 2024

The second full moon in Capricorn comes in to bookend Cancer season with another wake up call and reality check.

We are working with Saturn 🪐 right now in big, serious and mysterious ways. Saturn brings us big blessings in the areas where we’ve put in the long-term work of taking responsibility for our shit. Saturn also shows us where we’ve been avoiding responsibility.

At the same time as we’re feeling all of this Saturn influence (the good and the hard), we’re all likely recovering from that Mars / Uranus conjunction last weekend that gave us a push, possibly in a startling new direction.

There’s been a lot of important energy this month, so let’s get into it.

URANUS transits

First of all, before we dive into the full moon chart, I want to touch on some important Uranus transits that we’ve been in, and how they’re still affecting us during this full moon.

Our story with Uranus in Taurus has been a major overarching storyline of the last several months. Something got shaken loose in mid April when we had the Uranus / Jupiter conjunction. If you’re still making sense of that transit (and the ways it changed you), the last week or so should be providing you some insight.

Between July 12-16, Uranus came into contact with Mars. This transit likely lit a fire under you to make the changes you were forced to become aware of back in April. Whatever unexpected turn of events brought absolute and utter revelation to your life in mid April, Mars and Uranus are now asking you “how are you taking ACTION on that insight gained?”

Uranus works through shock and awe, and is absolutely never subtle.

Whatever insight and awareness came through for you in April, Mars has been asking you to put into practice this week.

The next saga in our Uranus story is that during this full moon (which I’ll get to soon) Uranus is being squared by Mercury. And to top it off, the trickster Mercury is in preshadow, preparing to retrograde.

During this full moon, Uranus is asking you to fully own the lessons in radical shifts in perspective you’ve had over the last several months, and to speak your truth about what you now know matters.

Mercury in preshadow is about reflection: what have you learned from all of this? How does it inform the ways you want to move forward?

I would be remiss not to mention that whenever Uranus is activated, so is our nervous system. If the past week has felt especially draining, exhausting, or overstimulating, give yourself a little break and some extra tlc.

FULL MOON

Now, onto this full moon in Capricorn. This full moon is at the final degrees of Capricorn, while the last one was in early degrees. Somewhere in between, Capricorn’s ruler, Saturn, stationed retrograde. All of July we’ve had this heavy feeling of Saturn weighing over us (mixed in with that shake up from Uranus).

Saturn is a planet we want to befriend, because although traditional astrology views Saturn as a malefic (or challenge), Saturn is what helps us build things that last. Saturn rules our ability to take responsibility, what we are committed to growing long term, and our material, grounded, practical and structural foundations in the 3D of our lives.

When we work with Saturn, we have to work for it. Nothing is given freely, but with dedication, discipline, and devotion, our hard work pays off.

This full moon is asking us to reflect on the challenges that were coming up for us back in January of this year, and ask ourselves with honesty if we have done the hard work to face our wounds and create something tangible, new, and ultimately, truly fulfilling in the long term.

Capricorn wants us to take true, adult responsibility for our desires, and tangible action towards achieving them. Whatever big life desires became evident to you back in January, a seed was planted (with the new moon in Capricorn). And now we get to see how far you’ve come in putting in the work to achieve it.

There may be certain areas of your life where you’re experiencing the hard-won benefits of your work, and other areas where you are being revealed exactly what still requires your attention. There is no skipping steps with Saturn.

So get honest with yourself, in which areas of your life (and if you know your chart, look at what house Capricorn is in for you) are you experiencing the benefits of all of your work and resilience, your choice to overcome your patterns and wounds?

And in which areas of your life is there still work to do to bring you closer towards that which you truly desire?

Saturn is not here to punish you, simply to help you cultivate the foundation, structure, and support system for the legacy you are meant to live.

Lastly, the full moon is in a conjunction with Pluto, the planet of death and rebirth sitting in the very early degrees of Aquarius. This points us towards the transformational potential of this full moon. Whatever desires we are ready to act on, they may be new, unexpected, and even shocking to your old self.

Trust the direction you are being guided in, and continue to show up with a sense of integrity, discipline, and commitment to your long term vision. This full moon is here to support you.

Big love always,

Hannah

Ps. If relationships are an area where you really desire to make changes, and you’re ready to commit to a deep process of transformation to call in the level of love, commitment, and expansion through relationship that you truly desire, now is the best time to make a commitment to yourself and do the work to make real lasting changes.
