Today the new moon in Cancer arrives at 14°, which just so happens to be the degree of my natal moon. The moon is at home in Cancer. These watery realms are where she thrives.
The archetype of Cancer is on the evolutionary path of learning to ride the waves of our emotional realms. In Cancer, we are here to feel it all (without losing our center). Cancer also invites us to cultivate, create, and initiate emotional safety in our lives. When we learn to be present to our inner world, we can cultivate safe and nurturing environments for our most tender parts to thrive.
This particular new moon helps us to get crystal clear on what we need to feel emotionally secure, particularly in the realm of our relationships.
The moon is in close proximity to Venus in the chart, also in Cancer. Venus is the planet of love, beauty, creativity, connection and intimacy. Venus rules over the human realms of our relationships, how we give and receive love.
The new moon is also making a square aspect to the nodes, which if you’ve been following along, you know by now are all about elevating our standards in relationships and stepping out of old, codependent patterns of relating.
Depending on where you’re at on your journey of creating internal safety, raising your self worth, honouring your emotional needs, and cultivating a nurturing inner and outer world, you’ll be affected differently by this moon. The new moon could come as either a welcome opportunity to begin something beautiful, or a challenging and overwhelming moment of emotional turbulence.
If you find yourself struggling to get above the waves, this is a telltale sign that you have some work to do around creating internal safety, honouring yourself, and standing in your worthiness.
If your relationships are not in alignment with your highest self and expression, the turbulence you feel internally will be highlighted by this moon.
Especially if you are still stuck in relationship patterns that aren’t serving you in the long run, this new moon will exacerbate the discomfort and challenge.
The moon is in trine to Saturn, which helps us create foundations for long term stability, structure, and tangible meaning in our lives. Saturn, having recently stationed retrograde, is prominent in the sky right now. Saturn asks us to grow up, take responsibility, and do what is best for us in a grounded and practical way.
Saturn has no patience for escapism, fantasy, illusion, or lack of discipline and discernment.
Therefore, if there’s a hard decision you’ve been avoiding (perhaps to end a relationship that’s no longer in alignment), Saturn might be kicking your butt right now.
